Mount Drive, St.Albans
Brief: Ground floor flank extension
Budget: £50,000
Scope: Permitted Development, Building Regulations & Project Management
The client of this project, Alison, had moved into their family home after moving their mother into a ground floor flat nearby. Alison want to modernise the property that had not been improved for 60 years by creating a larger kitchen, downstairs toilet and most importantly a utility room as she had a collie who gets very muddy on dog walks!
The design we devised did not require planning permission but permitted development meaning two to three months could be cut from the process which was an important factor for Alison as she needed to move in as soon as possible.
The 12sqm single storey flank extension allowed the creation of a large kitchen and family room to the rear of the property, a utility room and a shower room.
